RACHEL LESHAW

Rachel was a competitive runner throughout high school in New York City and college in Vermont. She was introduced to yoga by a college friend and became hooked to the non-competitive, non-judgmental atmosphere.

To further her personal practice, she completed an Ashtanga teacher training at It’s Yoga in San Francisco in 2003. After a few years teaching yoga in Bay Area public high schools, Rachel moved to Encinitas and started teaching adults. She completed the Anusara teacher training and immersions with Michael Fukumura in 2009. She then completed the primary series teacher training with Tim Miller in 2014.

Rachel’s approach to yoga is “structured play." She loves watching her students become more comfortable in their bodies and gain confidence. Poses that begin as “impossible” become possible when approached from a place of play, surrender and good alignment. Her classes are challenging to all levels.
